Shake your booty boys and girls

So you know when the month of December rolls around it’s all supposed to be butterflies and rainbows, right? Good moods, happy faces, celebration?

Well this month I am feeling it not so much. Believe me, I want to. And I am trying.

But so far this month has been stressful. Mostly for Andy, but you know how when one person is really stressed it has a way of trickling down? It has trickled. And we have all been feeling out of sorts.

The house is a mess, schedules are crazy, and I just want to curl up in front of the fire with a good book.

Or play with the girly.

It’s waaaaay too cold outside, and I have found my temper short.

The kids are ready for a break from school- and I am too.

So what do you do when you are grumpy and you need to shake it?

Time for a kitchen dance party of course!

And our fave song lately for our dance party?

This one. I dare you to listen and not smile, or at least tap your foot.

Beauty In The World | Macy Gray from Concord Music Group on Vimeo.

Heya throw your hands up and holla
Throw your hands up and holla
When you dont know what to do
Dont know if youll make it through
Remember god is giving you beauty in the world

Because playing is much more fun than being grumpy

And the little people like it so much better

And then she goes to the door to wait for her brothers so they can come shake their booties with her.

Ugh. I’m sorry for the stress. It’s so hard when the DH is stressed and if definitely trickles down. Hang in there. I love your idea of dancing and having fun to lighten things up. I’m going to remember that! 🙂

Play is the answer. I couldn’t agree more.

Oh Eva is SO stinkin cute!! That song will be on my playlist for sure! Love Macy Gray. And, completely off subject here – I REALLY want Avery’s hair to look like hers. Fab! I occasionally make my family listen and dance to “Say Hey” by Michael Franti or “Soul Sister” by Train…we always end up laughing and John doing the moon walk or some disco move which makes us laugh even harder ;).
