Yet another Christmas has come and gone and I think I took one picture. One.
I have gotten to the point where I would rather be in the moment than trying to photograph it. And that’s ok.
We had an early Christmas in Chapel Hill on Saturday and got in the car and headed to the farm the next day.
North Carolina Mountains
Arriving at the farm
We realized that we don’t see many sunsets living in the forest in North Carolina
Christmas was nice and mellow- Eva loved the whole idea and it was so nice to see her get it.
Cole got the best Christmas gift from his teacher.
And his laser tag guns were a big hit with Eva
We were planning a trip up to Ohio the next day but after checking the weather we decided to go up Christmas night and miss driving through a snow storm. So we rolled into a non-snowy 614 on Christmas night and woke up to a beautiful white scene the next morning. The kids were thrilled- until we realized that they had no boots, coats, or snow pants. A quick trip to Target and borrowing some items from friends filled in the gaps and the all the kids got to go sledding, skiing, or just play.
Eva got her nails done
And we hung out with friends
The kids are always spilling or breaking something. Joel cracked me up with his backpack vacuum.
Our sweet little town was all decked out for Christmas
I took advantage of having a starbucks drive-thru so close and indulged every day. Met up with Aimee to thank her for holding Elisalou together in our time of transition. It hasn’t been easy. Running a two state business had it’s challenges and I so miss my creative outlet. Things need to change going forward so that I can keep doing what I love and the business can continue to grow. Thinking about that.
The skiers- they skied until 1am. And my little Coley man rocked it but was the BIGGEST grump ever the next day. And still sorta is. Wore him out.
We are now chilling back at the farm with 3 tired kids and a kid that is fighting what seems like the flu. Soon it’s back to the south and no snow. Ready for 2013?
