Happy Thanksgiving.
Right around the time when the parade and parties were to start for the boys I get a call from the nurse at school. Austin was sick. So I went to pick him up, he was sooooo sad. The worst day to be sick. He missed his class party but we did let him go out last night to a few houses. He is back in bed today, and I am making some banana bread- hoping he will be able to keep it down.
Here are some pictures of the other two. Cole calls himself “Kiki” so he informed us last night that his name was “Kiki Mario”
Blake was an army man.
love those ears
So Halloween is over and we havebags of candy that usually last all year.
The boys have been begging to go bowling lately so while the Grandparents were here we headed out last night to have some fun.
The lighting was bad so the pictures aren’t too great but I couldn’t resist these
And then there was Cole, who had a little trouble getting his ball to roll all the way down
At one point Andy timed how long it took Cole’s ball to get down the lane. 23 seconds.
Then Cole decided he liked the blower best
We are excitedly awaiting the arrival of Grandma and Grandad from Texas. There are floors to be vacuumed and sheets to be washed, toys to be picked up. But first, a cup of coffee. We like it when Grandma and Grandad come, Grandad is the best baby (I mean big kid) sitter and Grandma is an awesome sewer. The only bummer this time around is that I won’t get a quilt out of it. Too many bags to work on. She has no idea what’s in store- lots and lots of bags. Usually when she comes I have a quilt all cut out and she helps me sew it together.
We will be replacing the downstairs windows with the help of Grandad, hope he is ready for that. But never fear, there is also some fun on the agenda. We will be visiting the Chihuly exhibit. We saw it a couple years ago when it came through before. It is so cool, so much color. If it ever comes through your town, go see it! Lots of pictures to come on that one I’m sure. Look here for more cool Chihuly.
So I called my mom today and told her that I need her to come up tomorrow because Andy is going to NYC again for a couple days. She responds by telling me that she is coming up this weekend.
E- “that’s not good enough! (insert whine) I need help this week while Andy is gone, don’t you know last week I almost had to give the kids up for adoption??”
My mom- “Oh my poor babies! I’ll call you back after I talk to your dad”
He he he, I knew that would work. No way my dad won’t say, “Go help her, my Grandkids can’t be given up for adoption!”
See I love my mom to death. She just retired, this is her first year not teaching Special Ed, high school Special Ed at that. She has the patience of a Saint! She lets my nieces roller blade in her kitchen!
So anyway, not only will I have back-up with the kiddos, I am putting her to work cutting, ironing, interfacing.
Whew, help is good.
We are packing up the OSU flag, it will be on it’s way to Austin soon to be seen flying on the house of my dear sister-in-law.
Go Bucks!

I love a good summer rain. The boys have settled in to watch Back to the Future. It’s cool to see them getting into movies that I watched as a kid. No camp today so we are all here for an inside day of togetherness.
I am so excited about some changes coming to the website. New fabrics, hopefully a newsletter out soon, and a new way of giving back to a place that is near and dear to me. Soon we are going to be adding a feature- whenever someone buys a blanket from this site, we will donate one to Children’s Hospital. Still trying to work out the details. I am hoping to get my kids involved by letting them pass out the blankets.
Off to the studio, I love to say that- sounds a lot better than saying “off to the next room”
Ok one more thing, my kids are watching this movie and asking things like, “the people at the gas station used to pump the gas for you???” “they had convertables back then?” Too funny.
edited to add- if you feel like doing something kind today, check this out
Took the boys down to the farm to see the grandparents and get out of town for a few days. Sometimes just a short jaunt down there is all we need to refresh. Now we are back and it’s back to the routine of summer laid back days. It’s crazy how fast summer is going by, the boys will be back in school before we know it and Cole will be starting preschool two mornings a week. He can’t wait, and I have to admit I’m a little excited too.
Here are a few pics from Briarwood Farm
Fun Summer Days
I am so excited to have this new blog on my website. A way to share new fabrics and inspiration! Very Cool.
Nothing screams summer like the 4th of July and here are some recent pictures of some more signs of summer.
The Slip and Silde
And the Ice Cream Man!
Love this picture of Blake, life is all about Simple Pleasures
