Slow Home

For the past few months I have been thinking a lot about a Slow Home.  I used to have one, but then my kids got older and more involved in sports, music, friends.

I crave a more laid-back lifestyle.  And it was part of the reason I pulled my kids out of school last month.  To reconnect and regroup.  Because they are quickly growing, and I am quickly turning into a mom that just runs here and there and doesn’t have time to actually connect.

When we were in Austin I read about this book in a local magazine, and I have been meaning to order it ever since.  I think i will do it right now.

Beautiful video. There is a lot to be said about kids having time to be kids. Unscheduled time to just play! I have friends who have their kids in 3-4 things and they have 3 kids. Do the math for the week! Crazy. We let our girls have one scheduled sport or activity a week. It left us time to be a family. We don’t do a lot of running throughout the week. We treasure the times we relax and do crafts or just talk.
